For The Love of Cinema
This year the 66th Cannes Film Festival celebrated the 100th year of Indian Cinema. Cannes is always a highlight of the fashion calendar and many Indian celebrities were present at this International festival to pay tribute to the glorious century.

Sonam Kapoor walked the red carpet in a couture lace saree paired with an elaborate tail coat by Anamika Khanna, a nose ring from Sunita Kapoor and Jimmy Choo shoes. The winged eyeliner and oxblood lips gave out a traditional vibe and completed the look for The Great Gatsby premiere.

Frieda Pinto attended the premiere of Jeune & Jolie in a silver-beaded gown by Sanchita Ajjampur which had a draped back and a thigh high slit. The dragonflies embellished on the dress matched the Oscar box clutch designed by Daniel Swarovski and silver heels.

On her 12th visit to Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her first appearance in an embroidered lace couture gown by Elie Saab for the premiere of Inside Llewyn Davis. She kept her look classic with minimal jewellery, smoky eyes and soft curls.

Amitabh Bachchan announced the opening of the Cannes festival in an embroidered sequined tuxedo accessorized with a polka dot bow tie at the premiere of The Great Gatsby.

Making her debut at the Cannes this year, Vidya Balan wowed us with her choice of traditional wear. Sabyasachi styled her in a maroon lehenga and full-sleeved choli. She completed this Indian attire with a black bindi, neat bun, jumkas and a watch.

Resplendent in an embroidered Manish Malhotra lehenga Ameesha Patel arrived at the premiere of All is Lost looking elegant as ever. The soft curls and coral lips complemented her look in a subtle yet feminine way.

The fantastic four directors of Bombay Talkies, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar gathered together for the screening of their film at the Cannes Festival. Karan helped in styling the other three in great suits and an embroidered saree for Zoya.

Many other celebrities like Mallika Sherawat, Nandita Das, Puja Gupta Nimrit Kaur also made their presence felt at this festival looking fabulous in every appearance they made.
